My english is not very well, so don't mind that please. ;)

I have a serious problem, I think, because I don't really know if it is a problem. I just installed Ubuntu 8.10 along with Windows XP Profeesional. Then I wanted to start Ubuntu for the first time, but what I get is: a cumputer that makes"schk schk schk schk" noises, and a underscore ( _ ) that keeps flickering. After a while I get some sort of command prompt. It's got a lot of text and it also says: "Grub: *enter command here, of course* ". I don't know what to do now. I've checked the CD for errors but it's all fine.

HELP!! :(

If you are getting a grub menu, use the arrow keys to select what you want to boot. If you want to boot Linux select the First entry in the using the arrow keys, them hit enter. If you don't do anything it should automatically start Ubuntu after 10 seconds.

What I meant was, when I select Ubuntu in the grub menu, it shows an underscore flashing about 15 seconds, then i get that command prompt thing! :)
