i had 8.4 and then got 8.10 ... then got greedy and tried to install 9.4 which is still in development
soooo is there a way to go back to 8.10? or even 8.4 without wipeing the old partion clean and starting over?

There is no sure way that I am aware to downgrade or revert back to previous version.
