When you use my space and other sites, your computer is somewhat open to other users when you are online and signed in..no??? Is this right and if so, those type of sites wouldnt work in UBU correct??? Since there is no back door access stuff....

Myspace and Facebook seem to work fine for me. Both site use java and flash for mostly everything, its not really a back door if you set up your computer to use java and flash.

You are signed in with the little help of a cookie if I am correct. As long as you do not download or open any suspicious applications you are safe. A applications can only be executed if it has the rights, and if you - as an alert linux user - do not give them the rights...

Right... you have to give in order to gain.
You shouldn't have any problem with ANY web site just because you switched to ubuntu, you just won't ever get any viruses, B-).
Anything that can be viewed in firefox can be viewed in ubuntu.
If you are referring to the "I'm online" status you see on Myspace or Facebook - Ubuntu does not "protect" you. You don't need protection. If you don't want people to know you are online simply turn off that feature. Both sites provide a way to do it.
