Hi All,
I have this problem. I can't format my USB stick with EXT3(flash pen drive, etc.) within Ubuntu. I used the terminal (mkfs.ext3) and used gparted. Both ways seem not to work. Only formating my USB flash as FAT32 (with Gparted) works.
Please help!
Do you get any error messages? I can format a stick EXT3 with Gparted without problems.
Have you tried formatting as Fat32, then ext3. I've read that makes a difference sometimes
