I installed the driver from www.creative.com and I got it to work fine. Video, sound and everything was working fine until it seems I upgraded Ubuntu with the latest updates. So I tried reinstalling it and the terminal says it can't find

root@ubuntu:~/XFIdriver/XFiDrv_Linux_Public_US_1.00# make install Copy module files... cp: cannot stat `ctxfi.ko': No such file or directory make: *** [install] Error 1

I am at a dead end right now? Anyone know? I am on 8.10.

Also in my sounds properties it says that Creative ALSA Driver X-Fi is (Not connected)

There is a long running thread on the X-FI over in the Multimedia and Video forum. You would most likely have better luck there.
