I'm running Intrepid Ibex and I'm having trouble with my MythTv setup. For whatever reason, the frontend will not connect to the backend that is started automatically as a service on bootup. Whenever I restart my computer I have to manually start the backend in a console by typing "mythbackend" otherwise I just get an error from the frontend that it could not connect to the backend server and to check my settings.
I've tried messing with different IP addresses in the backend settings using both the loopback IP as well as the local network IP with no luck. I can't figure out what would be different from the backend running as a service versus starting it manually that would cause this.
Has anyone else seen something like this?
