Hi all,
As a new linux user, I had an issue with the Asus EN9800GT TOP graphics card in ubuntu. I think I found a solution but it might be a dirty one.
Problem:
- Unable to set proper resolution settings.
- No drivers found in the hardware drivers tool from ubuntu.
- tried envyng to install the drivers automatically, which failed.
- Could not find any linux drivers on the asus site.
Solution:
- I did run EnvyNG to install the nVidia drivers with manual selection of driver "173.14.12".
I am able to select the proper resolution settings now, but have no idea what will happen with 3d applications/openGL yet.
Will this harm my pc or can I continue using this driver as long as it works?
Thanks in advance, Stijn
