[SOLVED] Add a place to Places

Hi -- Anybody know how to add a place (particularly /var/www) to my Places bookmarks?

There is no option to add a place in the panels-control to change the Places list or add a place.

I don't mind going through command line if anybody could point me towards the right file/folder? I want to add my www folder to Places, to bypass Places>>Home>>selection

Is there a way to add a direct link, symbolic or hard, to Places where the drop-down menu lists "Home", Desktop", "Music", "Pictures", and "Videos"?

Open Nautilus and drag a folder into the menu.

drag the folder and drop it in your left pane in Nautilus

Open Nautilus, change into the folder which you want to add to your bookmarks and press Ctrl+D. You should now see it in the places menu. If there are too many items in it, they are summed up in the Bookmarks submenu.

Thanks, but that only adds a link to the actual Nautilus browser-window, not the drop-down menu list. I want to add a bookmark/link directly to the drop-down menu so when I drag the mouse over it, Nautilus opens in that file. -- same as if you were to click on Place>>Home, or Places>>Desktop. I'd like to have/add a menu item in that top row of menus You can edit Panel graphically, but only Applications and System. Places doesn't appear as an editable option.

I have the same problem...

I would like to have

Places [INDENT]>Documents

Pictures ...[/INDENT]

instead of:

Places[INDENT]>[COLOR="Red"]Bookmarks[/COLOR][INDENT]>Documents >Bookmarks>Pictures >Bookmarks>...[/INDENT][/INDENT]

Draging it to the left bottom pane of nautilus added it to my menu...I didn't know you could do that!
