Login Screen Too Big + Cut Off

Hi.

My login screen is too big. It is cut off at the bottom and right, so I cannot access my shutdown/session buttons. My xorg.conf file has the correct resolutions but I still do not have the correct resolution.

The resolution is corrected after I login, but not when I logout.

Any help?

start up manager will let you set the resolution you can find it in synaptic just do a search for "sum". then it will be in System>Administration>StartUp-Manager

Isn't that just for the shells behind GNOME? It was set to 800x640, which is way smaller than the res. at my login screen ( I think it is one step up from 1600x1200, my normal res, but I'm not sure what exactly that is)

I believe it's for the splash screen mine is at 640 x 480 but my desktop is at 1024 x 768. Guess you'll have to play with the x-config file then but I'll leave that to someone more experienced to explain.
