You know its helpful if you post what it is youre trying to do instead of "error message - what now". How is anyone supposed to help with that? Little more info please. (Notice the polite way I phrased that request)

nothingspecial has already said that he is willing to help you, but you must supply more information. What system are you using? What were you trying to do when the error occured? Stuff like that is necessary for any meaningful help. The more the better.

I have one HDD (internal). Windows XP on it. I boot the ubuntu cd. All goes well until were i get the partion option. I have this:

WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL AND UBUNTU

I can choose how much i can give (GB) for the ubuntu part. Before i install, i have 25 gb left out of 38. So these 25, i take 19 gb and out it to the ubuntu part. So does almost equal.

I press forward, and confirm and i get this error:

And i press OK. And i reboot.

Any other info you need :)?

The windows filesystem is probably too fragmented for the partitioner to resize, so boot into windows and do a defragmentation.
