How are you running synaptic? What is the process you go through to do it?

I have a shortcut in my panel. I use that everytime but suddenly i'm getting an error (posted above). I don't have synaptic package manager available in Systems - Administration or applications - System tools. THanks.

I'm not sure, but maybe this thread might help?

Guys, Thanks for your help.

I use GDM and KDE, logged in KDE and used adept package manager. It showed me that synaptic package manager isn't installed. So I installed it, back in GDM, synaptic works fine.

I don't know why or how or what makes my synaptic uninstall automatically.

Thanks.
