I wonder if this is related to the library's LAN system. Follow me for a minute. Go to a airport, log in WLAN and in Windoze, Internet Exploder opens with the airport website...maybe when you login to the library it either is getting beaten up with requests or it is interpreting an attack or it doesnt know how to handle the windows handshakes to speak to the LAN...Can you go to the library and before entering, turn off your wireless card? Or..here is a neat trick. Boot in the car..watch it load and look for a system to log into...try not to let it...see what you get in the car...then close the lid and bring it into the library. See what happens in the library now.
Crew...help me out here...Is ther an all encompassing log command that he can run from start to see if something is calling him to start some sort of code execution?
Let's try something else...do you have a firewall? Try installing Firestarter and then before going hardcore into the network at the library, start firestarter and see if it is getting pinged to death....
See if those tests do anything...they may not...but maybe they do. This unfortunately could be signs of something bigger...
Peace
