I have a dual boot system with XP and suse 10.3 but I want to get rid of suse and install ubuntu 8.10 instead.

I don't know how to install grub and use manual partitioning to resize and install the software.

Please help.

Download from here: http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download Use this guide: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto?highlight=%28burn%29%7C%28 Boot from the Live CD;install; at the partitioner, go 'Manual'. Use the suse partitions. You can ignore /swap. You'll end up with a brand new Grub and dual boot.
