Treo sync hangs at Date Book & Photo question

I am able to sync my Treo 650 up to a point. It syncs Contacts and Calendar, but it hangs when it gets to Date Book, and even after hours, the sync screen is on Date Book. Does anyone have a solution or suggestions.

Question 2: how do I get the photos from my Treo into my computer. I do not have a data card, they're in the Treo's memory.
