Greetings, I have been having problems with connecting to the internet on my Wi-Fi, even with signal at 60-75%. For the life of me I can't figure out why I can't make connection to the internet with sometimes even 75% signal. Only when I am in the room adjacent to the router's can I connect.

In Ubuntu 7.X I had to be right next to it, now with 8.10 I can work within my room if I hold my computer up to the cieling; this is gettting very frustrating. Has anyone had a similar problem? If so, what do you suggest? I'm about ready to mount my router to the cieling.

TL;DR: I have to have 80%+ signal to connect to the Internet, mystically after that I get full speed, before that I get none. Great signal, just can't use it.

Laptop: Gateway M1625 Wireless card: RealTek's RTL8187b

Thanks in advance :)

Edit: Apologies if this has been asked already, I couldn't turn up a damn thing.
