Text After Boot/Splash

Hi, I'm sorry, but I'm new to Ubuntu/Linux (I just installed it last week) and I was wondering if I did something wrong.

So my question is: after the loader, the orange bar shows the loading and finishes, my screen turns black and then there's a series of white text of the booting and stuff. Is this supposed to be there? I don't always remember it being there. If so, is there a way to get rid of it? I'm wondering if I did something wrong and caused it to get rid of something that used to be there instead.

Alright matey. Usually - not always - having no splash is down to two things. First we'll deal with the most probable. This happens when your swap partition's ID (called UUID) has changed.
