I've just got Ubuntu running on my Fujitsu laptop, and am pleased as all heck. Linux has definitely come a long way.
However I can't for the life of me get it to display any resolution higher than 1024x768 on a second monitor (i.e. built-in LCD off). I'm trying to set up:
Laptop: Fujitsu S7010D Grpahics: Intel 855GM Monitor: Dell 2005FPW (widescreen 1680x1050 LCD)
X was magically configured with the 1680x1050 resolution, but it starts in 1024x768 and I can't switch to anything higher on the fly. I've tried 915resolution and adding a 1680 Modeline to xorg.conf to no avail.
Does anyone have any ideas? It's nice that ubuntu works on my laptop, but as a power user, working at 1024x768 for serious work just isn't an option.
