website ideas?

so ive become interested in making my own website...as a hobby...but i want to make a practice website first...a small one just to test my skills

the thing is i cant come up with an idea...i know what my main one would be about but i cant figure out a good simple practice idea

When I am teaching HTML and need a site and don't want to use 'Hello World!' I usually go here and type in a random word then make a site about that.

If you're just practicing for now you should just pretend that someone's asked you to make a website for them, something simple. The other week I made one up for a made-up art gallery, do something along those lines. A simple or small business, maybe a clothes shop for teenagers or something.

Before you get to programming and content production, throw around some ideas in your head, or just write them down. Brainstorm, what things do you think of when you think of the thing you want the site to promote? Say if it were for a teen clothes shop, I'd think of surfers, skaters, rock music, graffiti and that kind of thing. Then start on your mockup, using your brainstorm to guide your artistic direction.

Then, once you're happy with that, you're ready to start producing your site :D

The first blog I made, was about "heijn" which was what was typed after I smashed my face into my keyboard.

I figured out how I wanted to configure it and decided to blog about something that was interesting to me. I'm not sure what you are looking to make a website for (ecommerce, blog, corp.) but I highly suggest just bashing your face on the keyboard and writing about that to start with.
