I need serious help here!!

Ok my mac mini would not boot the ubuntu cd no matter what i did, holding down "c" so i went into osx mac preferences and changed start up disc to "ubuntu cd" so finally it booted and i installed ubuntu.

problem is now my mini will only load the ubuntu live cd, i cant get into the mac partition or the ubuntu partition, as i write this i am in the live cd. i get a "no bootable disc" error without the cd, stupid osx is still clinging on to the preference i set i guess, ieven tried booting the mac osx discs and nothing...

how do i get my mac now to boot into one of the partitions, id like to get back into mac osx and then install refit .

Have you tried holding down 'alt' (aka option) when booting? It should pull up a boot menu for you. This sounds like a mac problem, not an Ubuntu problem to me.

PS - a more descriptive title would be "Boot problems on install" and may help your post to get read.

yep. You need to hold the option key on bootup and then make sure to select the startup disc correctly this time.
