running the broadcom drivers provided through ubuntu, wireless card recognizes att 2wire router and internet conection but even with encrypted password, refuses to join network. need help.

Yup, seen that before. I usually start off with a plain text connection and if that works, reconfigure the WiFi access point to WEP or WPA and see if it still works. Some devices simply won't work in all modes no matter what you try.

awww thats not a good prize. guess i can give it a try. i mainly use my notebook but i'm never really mobile so it wn't be too muc of a loss.
