Hi all, I just bought a bunch of optical media. In commercial software 'Nero' there is a way to find out who the actual manufacturer is rather than the branding. The branding on the CD/DVD may say Philips or whatever the brand-name is, but using one of the utilities one comes to know its actually CMC and has an identifier "MAG E01". I am sure this information can be found out but don't know how and where to look for that?

google would be the obvious place to start .
Perhaps I was not clear, does anybody know of a package/binary which gives similar functionality as described in "Nero"
Even if google what keyword should I give there? The search is useful only if one knows what the technical word for that whole operation is .
Triggerhapp, thank you for trying to help, but this is NOT the info. I was looking for. I am not looking for what MAG101 stands for but rather an application/utility where I put in a blank CD/DVD it tells me 'like' Nero does as to who the original manufacturer is and anything else which has been burnt in the optical media.
Does anybody know of a utility like that?
First off : No, with all the applications I have tried, Ive never seen this feature once.
Secondly : Why? when google works just as well
Thirdly : Whats this got to do with Jaunty testing?
