plz help even though i set the system time it changes every time i start my comp

Have you checked your battery on your motherboard normally this is the problem. If the battery is dead then system time wont stick.

A simple way to check is to boot into bios check the time and then reboot the bios and see if the time is still accurate

Yeah, the CMOS battery. A round "coin" battery.... easy to find

i think your problem is probably more likely to be that your hardware clock and your ubuntu clock are set to two different time systems

windows uses the local timezone to set your hardware clock while ubuntu, i think by default, uses UTC to set the hardware clock

(this is an old thread i made a long time ago when i had issues with my clock in vista but i am almost certain that the solution i followed is the same one you will need to follow to get your clock working correctly)

thank u guys. but there was a time zone problem, it was something different so every time i boot it used to update time from the internet, i guess
