If you really need support for Office 2007 go here:
http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxlinux/
and pay for their product, otherwise I would suggest OpenOffice, which is installed by default.
Jim
i have already purchased office and i was wondering if anyone on here knew what kinda command i needed to be put in for me to run it...
why do you want to use linux if you want to run all windows software on it?
not all windows just office and it's b/c open office.. i just can't stand the way open office is set up.. the only reason i got wine was so i could run office 2007. that's it...

Honestly .... Why on Earth are you using Linux? That's something you'd have to ask yourself. Are you sure you didn't switch for the wrong reasons? If it is mainly Windows programs that you want to run ... then why are you not using Windows as your operating system?
Linux is not Windows. Never was. Never will be.
If you are sure about not wanting to use Windows anymore then you should let go of your old bad habits of using Microsoft programs and accept the fact that you have to learn a lot of new things. If that's OK for you then you could start by familiarizing yourself with OpenOffice.
If you want to go back to Windows, here are the instructions from Microsoft on how to get rid of Linux again:
"How to Remove Linux and Install Windows on Your Computer" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/247804
"How to Remove Linux and Install Windows XP" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314458
ok so b/c microsoft doesn't offer a verison of office for linux i'm just supposed to use windows? I think not. I shall not go back to windows ever. Open office sucks there's no other way around it. There's barely anything to it. I've looked around it, and it's not really as nice and neat as MS Office, if they had a linux version of it i would've bought it b/c it's worth it. Open Office is a great FREE program. And i already know how to remove linux off of my laptop if i so wished. I never realized that the ubuntu community could be so asinine but oh well i guess i was proven wrong. I guess just simply wanting to have 1 type of program from windows on my pc means i should have to live through windows. Whatever i'm marking this thing as solved so others won't read it.
Dis you not read my post wine 1.1.1 can install your ms office.
as i said I HAD it installed but i neeeded to change default programs and right now i've given up on it.
