Search for a decent music player

Are there any good music players (players that will hold a large library) that support the 'album artist' tag? It seems as if everything for Linix has for some reason avoided this feature.

Also, are there any other music players that will separate the artists if they're separated by a '/' or a ';'? If WMP is able to do this, I should think there's something out there on Linux that will too? It's very annoying when Rhythmbox shows a group of half a dozen different artists as one.

Anyone?

Try banshee and songbird. Don't get them from the repos though, download from web.

Huh Rhythmbox normally works quite well for me but other options are Songbird which is made by Mozilla. Banshee has had good reviews. aTunes is not something i have yet to try then there is Amarok or Exaile. Give some a try untill you find the one that suites you thats the beauty of Linux theres so much choice.

Thanks, I tried Songbird and I'd have to say it's the best I've used so far. A lot like Winamp, just a little hassle with IDv2 tagging, but with a little work it could be fantastic.

give amarok a try. it has alot of great features.

I use KDE 3.5 and Amarok is my player of choice, it is, I think the best audio player for Linux right now. But I would also recommend JetAudio, which I can say is the best player around regarding sound quality and enhancements, unfortunately is Windows only, but Wine supports it and it sounds VERY good. It has also a good media library and supports ID3v2.
