I hope I explain this correctly. My computer refuses to play sound on more then one application at a time, and in order to switch which program is using sound, I have to reboot the computer. For example, I start up the computer and open Banshee, and listen to a song or two. Then I hop online, and decide I want to watch a video on YouTube. It won't play. So I reboot my computer and watch that YouTube video. Then I want to listen to the radio. I use the last.fm player. When I open it, I get this message: The ALSA soundsystem is either busy or not present. Reboot again. You get the point. I don't know what's going on. I'm not sure when this started happening. I was/am having some problems with Banshee, so this could have been happening for a while, and I just attributed it to those problems. I know it's been going on for at least a week, but I can't think of anything in that time that would have changed to cause it. Any help of how to fix this would very helpful. Oh, and I'm kinda new at this whole Linux thing, so you might kinda have to spell it out to me. I'm still learning... Thanks in advance.

Ok, as far as I can tell, PulseAudio was/is installed on my computer. Is it maybe not working right? Or maybe I have the wrong version? Granted, I don't know what version I *do have, so...
