Hello all, I had my desktop effects just screaming the other night I was just giddy. I had a bunch of updates to run, ran those and suddenly I lost all the effects, and could not get them back. I'm not at that computer at this moment so I don't k have the video information but I was wondering if anyone else has seen this, and has a quick fix for me. I know in hardware it lists two video cards I have tried both (nvidia I believe) and no luck....any help or advice is appreciated.

Hi and if you installed the nvidia manually then you will have to reinstall them after each kernel update. If not then you may just have to reinstall the drivers from the system, administration, hardware drivers again. :)
I gave that a try , Im using a Nvidia gx5200, no luck I disabled all drivers rebooted tried again, I belive it was the 73 series driver with no luck. Im open to ideas...Oh btw I should have said this was a WUBI install on ubuntu. I will be dedicating the whole hd but still need to pull windows data.
