Hi,

the volume sliders in Ekiga for both, in- and output, are stuck to zero -- each time I drag them they go back to zero as soon as I unpress the mouse button. Sound generally, however, works fine in other applications (mpd, pidgin, ...).

Surprisingly I hear sound and I can adjust the sliders as soon as I make a call in Ekiga. After hanging up the sliders are stuck to zero again. Audio-plugin in Ekiga is set to "ALSA" (given no other option) and audio devices are set to "Default" each. Changing them to "Intel ICH6" doesn't solve the problem anyway.

Any hints on how to solve the problem with the stuck sliders? I sure would like to adjust the volume prior to making a call.

Thanks in advance Florian

PS: as I am an Ex-Windows-User please be as patient as possible ;). In return I try to be as precise as possible.

I'm having the same problem in Ubuntu Intrepid. It's a reported bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ekiga/+bug/248903

Because the brightness is at zero, my picture is so dark that whomever I'm talking to can't see me at all. It's incredibly irritating.

ETA: Trying to adjust it during a call doesn't help. I have the same problem whether I'm in a call or not.

Ah, thanks a lot. Haven't seen that it's a reported bug already. Just went through the link but the problem still isn't solved, right? Or did I miss someting.

Bye

Bye Hi Gang, Having a problem with volume on the idiotbox. I plugged in the headfones...and the speakers were no help..a liltte too quiet...and the head fines are not much help. Anybody got an idea how to boost the sound? Yes I tried the sound gui...no luck..still pretty quiet..

I have this problem too, but I come with a fix! (at least for me...) All you need to do is make a call and then adjust the sliders after you are connected, and hope that the other party doesn't hang up on you while you're fiddling. It's worth the hassle to get calls for .3 cents/min I guess.
