I'm using Ubuntu 8.04, with VIA Chrome P4M900 as the graphic card. My problem is I'cant connect my external monitor. When booting time, it can show the usplash, but not when entering GDM. Anyone know about this problem ?

I'm not going to be much use here I'm afraid. Just confirming that as far as I can tell, it's incredibly complicated to set up external monitors with this chipset. I've been trying for months, am fairly experienced with Linux, and am having no luck whatsoever. I'll post here if I get any further.
