DJ software

Hello! I'm looking for a live dj/mashup software for ubuntu similar to ableton live for mac or audiomulch for windows that has:

• Beat syncing (of course)
• A potentially infinite amount of players, with the ability to play more than 2 at a time (hopefully up to 10)
• A good amount of audio effects
• And, in a perfect world, midi sync capabilities

If anybody can point me towards something like this that is available for linux, it would be greatly appreciated :)

I had some good fun playing with a piece of software called Mixxx. I am not a dj and have no idea what i'm doing, but Mixxx appears (imo) to be quite a high quality DJing app that works on Linux, Windows and Mac.

Think it might only give you two players though. Still definitely worth checking out.

yeah, mixxx is good, but it's more of a vinyl emulator, with 2 players, and the way the speed changer works. For my purposes, I need to be able to play at least 6 tracks at a time (as weird as that may sound)

I wouldn't really describe this as DJ software, more like loop-based audio production software. but that's a hazy line

Hmm, this is actually one region that has yet to be well developed on the Linux platform. You might want to look into these packages: freewheeling, lmms, terminatorx, or freecycle.

Your best bet may just be to run Audiomulch in Wine. According to the wine appDB it works flawlessly: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=13100 and > Audiomulch has been designed by its creator, Ross Bencina, to be fully Wine-compatible. My experience with it a couple of years ago was that it was a very well-engineered and stable piece of software regardless of which OS was hosting it.

hmm... sounds like I need to go download me some audiomulch...

I run audiomulch on my mac with crossover currently (I use a triplebooted macbook) and it works great, I'm just expanding my musical horizons here :D Thank you for the info, I'll look into those
