Hi I quite new to linux and trying to get used to it and would like to play some quake3 style games on this PC. It is a Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2h mainboard with on board HD3200 garphics. 4 gig of RAM and an AMD5400 dual core.
I can play the Q3 when running Vi$ta without any problems on the onboard chipset. !024 resolution all details and smooth laying I tried some of Q3 ali like Alien arena but that is ucly slow. Like slide show at 3 FPS. I looked at the system and drivers ad I get a message:
Proprietary ATI/amd FGLRX driver not activated. I tried the activate button but nothing happens/ I have no effect on the desktop activated. I have Kubuntu 8.10 installed with the KDE desktop.
Any clues?
