I've only been getting those errors today. Additionally, about two thirds of the time, things just time out and don't load. However, everything was fine yesterday.

Obvious man told me, obviously the site is slow. It should be obvious.:)

Just so you don't feel ignored...

There are some server problems. We are aware of them, and working to fix them.

#5

Just wanted to let it be known that I had them too.

I actually had one a hour or two back.

I get a "502 Proxy Error" every time I search for something.

Proxy Error

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server. The proxy server could not handle the request, POST /search.php. Reason: Error reading from remote server Apache/2.2.8 (Ubuntu) Server at ubuntuforums.org Port 80 I thought of reporting this, because to me it happens in a specific location only (search function), so it might help narrow down the issue a bit. :)

Does that only occur when you search?

Yes, I get this error only when I search.

#9

Odd...I've just tried running a search, I didn't get a proxy error. It did take around 4 seconds though, which is a bit on the long side in my opinion :(

#10

Well, if I search through the search box in the top right corner it works (it takes more than 10 seconds though). But if I search through the advanced search page, I still get that error.

P.S.: when I first reported this issue, I only tried the advanced search.

I've had the same errors too earlier this week, they only occured when I tried the "New Posts" link though.

There's been a number of threads on that very topic. People keep reporting those two lines of error messages pertaining to proxies, upstream servers and invalid responses. The kinds of requests vary, though. So far, all types of HTTP requests have been reported to have been affected, it seems.

It appears that this situation occurs when the servers are under heavy load. The persons responsible for the operations of those servers haven't been able to identify the cause yet.

Not for me. During certain times, whenever I try to post, or refresh a page, I get the 502, 503 errors. Obviously searches don't work either. ;)
