I have been running Kubuntu 8.10 on my desktop to give it a try. I have had some problems watching movies. It keeps flashing as it plays, Some seem worse than others. I have tried other movie players and the same problem persists. Any Ideas? I have looked around and still haven't found anything on. Thank You.

go to your video player's preferences , set the video output to X11.Also go to compizconfig settings manager> General options and untick fullscreen redirect there.
