Just wondering where everyone migrated from?

My history -> Win95 -> Win98 -> Redhat7.1 -> Win98 -> WinME (argh) -> Slackware -> (Gentoo -> WinXP -> Gentoo)^10 -> Ubuntu

Dos 95 98 ME XP Mandrake Suse XP Mepis Ubuntu- NO MORE WINDOWS!

Win 95 Win ME (TERRIBLE) Win XP (better...) Ubuntu(likeing alot so far)

Hmm, how about all the above and alot more :) I am currently running arch linux,winxp, and ubuntu. Before installing ubuntu I had a quad-boot with winxp,gentoo,archlinux, and freebsd.

I have used probably all the popular distros since first installing mandrake 5 or 6 :confused:

I am still quite happy with arch as a bleeding edge distro, and ubuntu looks to be a great stable distro.

I didn't vote because 1 answer didn't really fit me.

I am now runnig winXP (just because of video editing software I work with) and Ubuntu....

I use Ubuntu mostly, since Hoary, and I am building a BSD install to run mail and DNS(Just because). I used to run Windows (NT->2K->XP) mostly, but I have tried Fedora Core 2 and 3, FreeBSD 5.x, and Kubuntu, and I love it. I installed Ubuntu-desktop so I have the best of both worlds, though I tend to stay in KDE.

I'm not a big fan os switching my distro all the time. Every time i did, it was becuase the distro i switched to offered a major area of improvement. Looking back it really is amazing how far and fast linux is improving.

RedHat 6.1, 6.2 then to Linux 7.3. Taking all your hardware apart to ID everything was half the fun ;) Been running MS Windoze since a 386 was a hot machine, Windoz-386, 3.1, Windoz-98, XP, Server 2000, XPSR2, etc. Before all that an IBM360 with punchcards (i.e. 1978 or so).

Rember the Apple IIe, Commodore-64 and BBS :D

Currently running Ubuntu on my home laptop, a dual-boot of Ubuntu/WinXP on the desktop (until I can get Flash running on Linux), and WinXP on the laptop I have through work.

Probably not as interesting as some, but it's been a fun ride.

Okay, let me think a about my "OS history" for a second...

1. TOS running on an ATARI 512ST
2. MS-DOS from 3.30 to 6.00 on various PCs (XT, AT)
3. OS/2 Warp3 on an 486 SX 25
4. OS/2 Warp4 on an Pentium MMX 200
5. BeOS (first 4.5.2, then 5.0.3) on an AMD K6-III-450 which got later replaced by an AMD Duron 650
6. SuSE Linux 8.2 on an AMD Duron (first with 650, then with 800 MHz)
7. SuSE Linux 9.0 first on said Duron, then on an AMD Athlon FX 2000
8. Ubuntu Linux 5.04 on said Athlon FX2000 and an Acer Travelmate 4000 with an Intel Pentium Mobile 1,4 GHz
9. Ubuntu Linux 5.10 on the same hardware

That's pretty much it - only counting what I have been using at home. If I were to include all the OSes that I have had to use at work, then I would need to add Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2k (Professional and Server/Terminalserver) , Windows 2003 (Server/Terminalserver), Sun Solaris 5.6 - 5.8 and pretty much every release of SuSE Linux from 8.1 on 'till 9.2...
