[SOLVED] installing a webcam, any hints in the terminal, how to?

:) well, any hints here, how to install via the terminal a webcam?....this may solve my other questions, 'cause i finally found aMSN...that itself is a great help.......

I solved the problem via https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EasyCam by adding these two repositories, the sources as well. Going to synaptic and joining the packages as 3.rd party-ones. After that going to debian-Packet-search adding them as well. After that you may see that in your application-row you have three icons of easycam, twice easycam2 and a third of that pack of easygspca. That ones you click to install a kind of "driver". And after that it should work with at least amsn on Ubuntu 8.10. I consider this a real task for a scrutinizer. As well get qc-usb-messenger-1.8 packs in synaptic. It works without cheese or camorama...... but put on the deb http://blognux.free.fr/ line in the repositories.... I guess thats one way it really works and that suits me. Oh what a nite.......](*,)](*,)](*,) and it works very well without console or terminal. By the way it's an Logitech quick cam communicate stx se..... the packages are to be named, sorry I forgot that: It is qc-messenger-1.8. and qc-usb-0.6.6, and put them into the folder /usr/src.....have fun. By the way I did not even to have a look at camorama or cheese but nontheless it makes me smile.
