I've searched a few forums and read some documentation, but I'm still a bit confused by one package: ntp
I've used ntp-simple previously and have a decent understanding of it, but does the ntp package also provide an ntp client & server? If I remember correctly, it is a 'complicated' ntp client/server and requires manually creating the necessary config files. Is that correct?
Lastly, I assume most Ubuntu servers would benefit from the ntp-simple package used for the client daemon since ntpdate only updates on bootup (unless a cron is setup...not recommended according the man page). Or is another ntp package better for the job (chrony ?).
Thanks for any help with this...
