I've got a Blue and White G3 that I'm trying to put ubuntu on but the installer keeps asking about CDROM Drivers. The G3 boots the installer detects the keyboard layout and then tries to mount the CD drive. this is where it fails every time. it says: "No common CD drive was detected. You may need to load additional CDROM drivers from the driver floppy. If you have such a floppy avaliable, put it in the drive and continue. otherwise you will be given the option to manually select CDROM modules." I tried every option for manual selection of CDROM modules but to no avail. The drive is an "Apple CD 24x max speed CD-ROM". It wants to load drivers from a floppy or try a network install, but the network install crashes while downloading packages and I haven't been able to find a driver on the web for this drive. I would try another CD drive, but the Apple drive is the only drive that loads the installer at all. Suggestions? PS. I'm not quite a lunux noob, so you can get somewhat technical if you want.
