Sauerbraten/Cube 2 Problem - Mouse will not work

Installed Ubuntu yesterday (first Linux OS), love it. Decided to get Sauerbraten so I could have my FPS fix every now and then. Unfortunately, when I launch the game, I'm unable to do anything with the mouse. Nothing I've tried works, I finally had to use the console just so I could exit the game. Other than that, everything else works.

I'd appreciate some help with this, it seems like a few people may have had this problem before as well. If you're going to ask me to use the Terminal, I'll need to know how to get to my storage drive from my user name, all my efforts to do so have failed.

and if you want to learn more I dont know of any good guides but a computer illiterate friend of mine ordered some cd's from this website. I would teach him myself but I dont have the time. I dont know how good they are but you may give it a shot
