I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 on a Macbook Pro. I am UNABLE to connect to a wireless network with WPA security. I can connect to open networks, but not secured.

I get as far as having two green lights and the mouseover says it is requesting a network address. Eventually it times out.

When I boot to Mac OSX, I have no trouble logging in to the same network.

I have two other Ubuntu laptops. Both connect to the network without problem.

Only the Ubuntu 8.10 on the Macbook Pro is unable to finish the connection.

Ideas?

There are several different Wifi cards in the various MacBook Pro versions. Please use the information in the "Before You Post" link to properly determine and identify your Macbook Pro version.

Also this is a bug has been affecting users for awhile. there is at least one bug report here: https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/278190
