Mythbuntu on a Serp4

I have a serp4 laptop, and a couple odd question...

Can I set up mythTV to work on my System76 such that each time I end up somewhere new, I can get the listings for that area and have it record? I'm guessing I'd have to use a USB tuner.

Should I just add MythTV software, or install something like mythbuntu?

Will the drivers from System76 work on mythbuntu?

Are there models out there that will tune both over the air and analog cable?

Once the US goes digital, will said USB tuner stop working? Are there compatible models out there already?

I'm not sure if the System76 driver will run on Ubuntu. We've never tried it. But it might.

Thanks Thomas. I'm guessing you meant "mythbuntu" there, not Ubuntu. The drivers do run on Xubuntu, Kbuntu, and Ubuntu though, right? So if I were to configure myth on my existing install, I should be okay as far as that goes?

Right, mythbuntu.

Yes, the driver runs on [KU/XU/U]buntu]. If it didn't run on Mythbuntu, you probably could modify it fairly easily. It's written in Python.

Unfortunately, python is like greek to me.

If I could modify your driver, I'd modify it for debian or mint to be honest. :)

I doubt you should have any problems: mythbuntu is based on xubuntu. It simply uses a customized xubuntu desktop and mythtv is already set-up, nothing more.
