Hi all, Today i'm trying to install ubuntu 8.10 server on an imac... (aluminium ) i've done the procedure several times with 8.04 and everything went smooth. Today.. i've started the installation on a brand new machine and i cannot get ubuntu installation start. this is what i've done: resize the osx parition using command line ,installed refit and rebooted the pc, synced partitions rebooted pc, then choosed linux cd to boot.. but all i get is.... a black screen with a blinking cursor on left top corner... Anyone has any suggestions ?

Nope :( that's the strange thing

I didn't manage to solve the problem, to solve i've simply cloned a working hard drive with dd into the iMac hard drive

Can you file a bug on this. You are not the first person that has said this (on the 24" iMac)
