Well who cares about a company that has threatend the linux community for ages and yet never shown its cards when the game really mattered.

What SCO shows is thought what happens when you try to take on linux.;)
I am sure Sun paid licensing fees to SCO as well (and then went on to opensource Solaris).
It's one of those things the lumbering elephant that is the F/OSS movement will probably (hopefully) never forget.
To forget the past is to be condemned to repeat it. (That's my own corollary to the "fail to study history" expression.)
