The calculator on Ubuntu is the best calculator on any operating system I've used. But there is a function and option I would love to see.
It would be great to instead of having the display of the calculator a simple number at a time have two rows where the top is the entire equation you are typing in and the bottom row is the answer to the previous equation. This was on my last calculator and I liked it a lot, so that if you type the wrong thing you don't know it. If we had the entire equation show on top and then when you press enter or equals than that would be great and a lot more user friendly when you are doing equations that are pre-Algebra and above.
I also would like to see a standard root button. Not a square root or a cube root but a button so that you can type in let's say 4th root of (9^2+19^(2/22)). This according to xkcd.com is pi. I would love to be able to use those sorts of functions on the calculator soon....
It would also be nice if there could be a high math setting where you can type in algebraic equations and come up with the answer to your equation. Yes, I am talking about a free graphing calculator option on Ubuntu's calculator.
