Hello all! I just got my new m1330 in the mail today and I LOVE it. So far, I have been able to get everything to work that I want to except for one thing...the internal microphone.

How do I get it to work? I have searched around but haven't found any answers for 8.1 intrepid. I would really love to get this to work so I can have chat online through Skype with friends at college.

Any chance you could post your solution I am having the same problem. Does your external mic input work?

  1. Double click on the sound icon in the top right corner
  1. Choose "Preferences" and then check the box "Digital Input Source"
  1. Close "Preferences" and go the the "Options" tab. For "Digital Input Source" choose Digital Mic 1.

That should do it for ya. The volume for recording isn't very loud; I'm still trying to work that out, but it seems to work okay with Skype when I talk to my girlfriend.

Enjoy!

EDIT: Also, this is for the internal mic. I have not yet tested/worked with an external mic.

This solution works in 8.04, but unfortunately not in 8.10

Solution works on my Ubuntu 8.10 (Sony Vaio VGN CR 520E/R) laptop. Many thanks.
