I was able to get everything setup and running. I only have one annoying problem related to video. It seems to be glitchy, and I have to scroll up and down or highlight in order to see text. This happens in ALL applications, the screenshot im providing is from xchat.

This one is better example... http://i37.tinypic.com/2mdqc5u.png

You can see it at the bottom there, doesnt look to bad, but it does it while reading these forums in ff3. I have compiz enabled with max effects, I even tried switching to normal and also changed the texture to good from best in compiz config settings.

Any insight on getting this resolved would be awesome!

Thanks!

You know,I've cried more than ten times hearing "chasing pavements" tonight. I don't know about your problem, but I don't like words like glitcy. Glitcy? What? You?Or me?Or something?

Never mind.I'll go to bed.

Good night.

Doesnt appear to happen with compiz disabled. However, without the effects, I'll just stay in OSX.. (eyecandy whore)

Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind. These passions, like great winds, have blown me hither and thither, in a wayward course, over a deep ocean of anguish, reaching to the very verge of despair. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------buy wow goldcheap wow goldworld of warcraft goldffxi gil wow power levelinghttp://www.inwowgold.com/sitemap.html

I understand, don't run away yet though...

What Mac are you using? (See the "Before You Post" link in my signature to properly identify). It may be that you are using a graphics driver that isn't playing nicely.

its the 5,1 (unibody aluminum)

I have tried using the nvidia-glx-177 drivers which dont give me the artifacts like the -173 drivers do, but instead, I get other wierd problems such as not being able to type in any text fields randomly, ect. I also tried the -93 (not in ubuntu right now, but i think it was 93) and they flat out wouldnt work, id get safe mode graphics with that set.
