When I restart my system and log in, for some reason Opera opens up. It is not listed in my programs to start under System | Preferences | Sessions.
It's not a real issue . . . I'm just curious as to how I curb Opera's enthusiasm to start.

It sounds like you save previous session on, go to system-prefrences-session and look at the session options for "automatically save changes to session" If it is checked then close opera before shutting down, if not check it then close opera manually before shutting down
