faster than real-time DV capture kino?

I'm capturing some video I recorded with a sony handycam DCR-HC62, using a firewire cable.

To capture the video I open kino, I go to capture mode, set up an output path and press the capture button.

The problem I have is that the video is captured in real-time (I see the video displayed in real-time while capturing). Is there a way to improve this speed (eg to capture at the highest speed possible)?

This has crossed my mind in the past but I've never seen any mention of it. DV is pretty bulky but I certainly wouldnt mind shortening those capture times if possible 8)

I doubt your Camcorder has the ability to send the data over 1394 any faster than real-time. That is why the trend is to hard disk or SDHC memory card camcorders. You just download the files the camcorder has created (which is significantly faster than real time) and edit.
