why should ubuntu show variety in each release

[I]i just installed my intrepid ibex. i know its late to post this idea but ill have to do it for the sake of it.

the default human theme in intrepid ibex is horrible. many of my friends didn't like it too.the buttons are not giving a good feel, they are flat and looks like old linux desktop.

the human theme that came with hardy was awesome. it had a good feel n the desktop.

Is there any reason why the ubuntu team is not willing to change from brown color. as far as i know, people usually change their default theme once they install ubuntu. why shouldn;t the default theme and color change with every release.

Whatever the default theme is, I'd most likely be wanting to change it anyway, and no matter what the default is, someone would post about how awful it was.:lolflag::lolflag:

The default Human theme in Intrepid, is the Human Murrine theme from Hardy.

The earth tone color pallet of Ubuntu is simply brand identification in the marketplace. When I think of blue, I think of Windows. Gray, I think of a Mac. Earth tones, I think of Ubuntu. The brand has been set, and I doubt that it will change.

As said many times on the forums, if you don't happen to like the default theme, there are many sources to download and install new themes, icon sets, etc. Ubuntu makes it easy to do that through the Appearances tab.

while it's true that ubuntu will probably never give up it's color scheme it doesn't mean it can't be used in another way. has anyone seen the Ubuntu wood design? that would make for an excellent theme, and would still stick to the same paint scheme

One, of many, great things about Linux is the freedom to have whatever theme one wants. I'm one of these nuts that spend entirely too time fussing over my "theme", with constant changes and never being completely satisfied.

hey DJ_Peng,

i am nooby to this forum thing . so i didn't know that it was actually against the forum's terms to write the same thread in more than one sub forums. all i meant was to get my idea more exposure to creative people like you :) sitting in the ubuntuforums.
