Two remote controls - setting up lirc?

Am I the only person who uses multiple remote controls to control a central frontend? I have three TVs (2 HDTVs and 1 LCD projector) and all of them can watch the same mythbuntu box.

The issue is that they are in different rooms, so I bought two MCE remotes and usb receivers. When one USB receiver is plugged in either remote will work with it. But as soon as I plug in the second usb receiver, none of them work, even if I unplug the second receiver. I have to close the frontend and restart it to get the first receiver to work again.

Do I need to setup the second receiver somehow? I have never messed with Lirc before and don't know anything about getting it to like the second IR receiver. Does anybody have any tips for things to look at?

Or should I just buy a IR remote extender and not worry about it anymore?

For $20 I just bought the IR extender. I already have one set, so adding a second receiver was as simple as I'd hoped adding the usb one to Mythbuntu would have been.

If I'm really bored one day, I might look into it, but I have a few other things to work on first.
