Hi People,

I have a slight issue with Ubuntu 8.04 on my Intel iMac. I run Ubuntu via 'Parallels Desktop 4 for Mac' and when I go to update Ubuntu it reaches '143 of 206' updates and then my Internet Connection speed is 'unknown' and it stops updating. This is very annoying and I do not know how to fix the problem. I checked my Internet Connection and everything is fine. I am a slight of a newbie with Ubuntu so if you try to explain to me something please explain it to me in a simple manner so I can understand.;)

Please answer back. All help is appreciated!!:KS

Thank you.

Go to System > Administration > Software Sources and select a different mirror source. Sounds as if the server is down.

Hi People,

I have a problem with Ubuntu 8.04.1 LTS Desktop Edition on my Intel iMac. I am running Ubuntu with 'Parallels Desktop'. Whenever I try to update Ubuntu at about '140-190 out of 206' it stops and the time remaining is 'unknown'. I have checked in the 'Software Sources' Section, I chose the best available server for my area and it still doesn't work. Just before the time remaining reads 'unknown' my Ubuntu CD spins faster then it stops then it says 'unknown' as my time remaining. My Internet Connection is fine and it works.

Please help me out with this extremely annoying problem:confused:. All help is appreciated!!:KS

Thank you.

Hi cyberdork33,

I know I doubled posted and I apologize. I did this because I thought if I wrote a reply to the message it would never be read by anyone so I thought I'd post a new thread:confused:.

So back to my original problem. I tried to do what aysiu told me and it DIDN'T work. (Sorry for the caps). What should I do now?

Any help is appreciated!!):P
