List of scientific softwares

Hi guys,):P I am an engineering student and hence i hv to do a lot of simulation work. I would like to know the list of softwares. For eg: In Windows, for circuit simulation, I use Pspice. and for VHDL programming, I use Modelsim software.

Since I am fed up of Windows(due to virus probs and such like!!!) and I want to use Ubuntu full time, pls give me a list of softwares or atleast a website which gives the list.
